Fight report leads to underage consumption charges

Delphos Police were called to the 1000 block of Elida Avenue at 2:31 a.m. Saturday in reference to a fight complaint at a business in that area.
Upon officers’ arrival, it was found that the subjects had left the area but were being followed by other subjects involved in the incident.
Officers responded to the area of South Clay and West Jefferson streets, at which time they came into contact with the subjects involved in the altercation.
As a result, Isaac Dwight, 20, of Delphos, Darin Lamica, 20, of Delphos and Ronald Moreau, 19, of Pennellville, New York, were arrested on charges of underage consumption of alcohol.
The subjects were cited into Van Wert Municipal Court on the charges and were later released.

Report filed on unruly child

Delphos Police were called to the 400 block of South Cass Street at 5:14 p.m. Sunday in reference to an unruly child.
Upon officers’ arrival, the victim stated that upon returning home, the child had allegedly caused damage to the residence.
It was found that the child was currently on probation through Van Wert Juvenile Court. A copy of the report was forwarded to the probation department for a possible probation violation.

Resident reports theft

Delphos Police were called to the 700 block of West Fourth Street at 7:29 p.m. Sunday in reference to a breaking and entering complaint.
Upon officers’ arrival, the victim stated that someone had gained entry into an unattached garage and had taken personal items from inside.
The case was forwarded to the Detective Bureau for further investigation.

Billfold, cash stolen

Delphos Police Officers were called to a local business in the 400 block of North State Street at 4:51 p.m. Monday.
The victim reported the theft of an individual’s billfold and contents. Also missing was an undisclosed amount of cash.

Family scares off would-be burglar

Delphos Police were called to the 600 block of Euclid Street at 10:39 p.m. Thursday in reference to a burglary complaint.
Upon officers’ arrival, the victim stated that someone had attempted to gain entry into the residence while the victim and family were home. The victim said when the subject heard the family inside, they fled.
Detectives were called to the scene to investigate and collect possible evidence.

Man reports
being threatened

Delphos Police were called to the 400 block of Harmon Street at 4:15 p.m. Saturday in response to a domestic violence complaint.
Upon officers arrival, the victim stated William Estle, 24, of Delphos had physically assaulted and threatened them.
As a result, Estle was taken into custody for domestic violence on a family or household member and was transported to the Allen County Jail. He will appear in Lima Municipal Court on the charge.

Delphos Police were contacted at 2:46 p.m. Saturday by a subject who had stated he was assaulted in the 300 block of South Canal Street.
The victim stated a subject came to the residence and had caused them physical harm.

Man faces possession charges

At 6:50 a.m. on Sunday, Delphos Police came into contact with David Haught Jr., 24 of East Liverpool.
Haught was found to be in possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia and was taken into custody and transported to the Van Wert County Jail.
He will appear in Van Wert Municipal Court on the charges.

Fence damaged

Delphos Police were called to the 700 block of West Third Street at 6:25 p.m. Sunday in reference to a criminal damaging complaint.
Upon officers’ arrival, the victim stated that someone had caused damage to a fence belonging to the victim.

Teen arrested for underage consumption

Delphos Police were called to the 1000 block of South Erie Street at 6:14 a.m. Saturday in reference to intruder complaint.
Upon officers’ arrival, they found Nakiah Brown, 19 of Lima in the area of the complaint. Upon speaking with Brown, it was found that she was under the influence of alcohol while under the age of 21. As a result, Brown was arrested and transported to the Van Wert County Jail and will appear in Van Wert Municipal Court on the charge.
Addition charges are pending and the case has been turned over to the Detective Bureau for further investigation.

Homeowners report B&E into garage

Delphos Police Officer were called to the 400 block of South Cass Street at 11:30 p.m. Friday for a breaking and entering complaint.
The homeowners reported someone had entered their garage and was now trying to gain entry into their home. 
At the time of the report, nothing was determined to be missing.

Delphos Police were called to the 200 block of West Clime Street at 4:39 p.m. Sunday in reference to a domestic dispute.
Upon officers’ arrival, both subjects involved had conflicting accounts as to what had occurred. One subject agreed to leave the residence to allow the situation to calm down.
The case was forwarded to the prosecutors office for possible charges.

Victim reports threatening text messages

Delphos Police were called to the 400 block of North Maple Street at 7:53 p.m. Sunday in reference to a menacing complaint.
Upon officers’ arrival, the victim stated that she had been receiving threatening text messages from an ex-family member.

Man faces OVI, possession

While on routine patrol at 11:06 p.m. Friday, Delphos Police came into contact with Jeremy Siefker, 24, of Delphos.
Officers found Siefker to be in possession of marijuana, drug paraphernalia, drug abuse instruments and operating a motor vehicle impaired. Police also found a substance that will be tested for the presence of heroin.
Siefker was taken into custody and cited into Lima Municipal Court on the charges with possible further charges to be filed upon test results being completed.

Thief breaks car window to steal cash

Delphos Police were called to the 500 block of Harmon Street on Sunday.
The victim stated an unknown subject had broken out a window on the property owner’s vehicle and stole an undisclosed amount of cash during the night time hours.

Items stolen from vehicle

Delphos Police were called to the 300 block of West Sixth Street at 2:46 p.m. Aug. 9 in reference to a theft complaint.
Upon officers’ arrival, the victim stated that while at a business in the 200 block of West Fifth Street, someone had taken personal items from inside their vehicle.

Truck strikes parked vehicle

At 4:51 p.m. on Monday, a collision occurred when a parked car was struck by a second vehicle as the driver attempted to turn.
James Washington, 59, of Los Angeles, Calif., was traveling eastbound on the 100 block of East Fourth Street when he attempted to turn northbound onto Washington Street. The right rear of his vehicle struck the left rear of a second vehicle owned by Rachelle Canfield that was parked along the south side of Fourth Street.
There were no injuries. There was moderate damage to Canfield’s vehicle and minor damage to Washington’s.

Woman reports hit-skip accident

At 2:16 p.m. on Saturday, a collision occurred when a parked car was struck by an unknown vehicle that fled the scene.
The vehicle of Mary Maye, 47, of Fort Jennings, was legally parked in the parking lot of ALCO when it was struck by a second vehicle.
Damages to Maye’s vehicle include a dent on the right rear fender, white scuff marks on the right side rear bumper, scratches on the right side of the rear and scuff marks on the right tail light.
