First Presbyterian church to present the Christmas Cantata PDF Print E-mail

VAN WERT — The First Presbyterian Church of Van Wert Chancel Choir, under the direction of David Van Tilburg, will present the Christmas cantata, “A City of The King,” by Jack Coleman during the 10 a.m. worship Dec. 8.

Featured soloists are Matt Alessandrini as Joseph, Sheila Chilcote-Collins as Mary, Rick Eberle as the innkeeper, Cricket Dobmeyer as the innkeeper’s wife and Hugh Saunier as the prophet. Harriet Schaadt will serve as organist. Additionally, performing recitatives or singing narrations are Lexi Ayres, Nancy Eberle, Terry Fox, Cheryl Griffiths, Will Hawkins and Trena Proffitt-Bartz.

“A City of The King” will be presented in “tableaux.” Costumed, live and still-picture settings celebrating the story and purpose of the birth of our Lord Jesus will be performed by members of the church youth group. There will also be several selections with dancers choreographed by Katelyn Welch.
