|Bulldog, Lancer boys lead local State CC qualifiers|

TIFFIN — The Columbus Grove boys clinched second place and the Lincolnview boys were third at the Tiffin Cross Country Regional Saturday at Hedges-Boyer Park to advance to the Division III State Cross Country Championships at Hebron.
Colton Grothaus was the top finisher for the Bulldogs, grabbing fifth (16:29.78), while Logan Douglas was 23rd (17:05.12).
The top two finishers for the Lancers were Alex Rodriguez (16:45.23), while Bayley Tow was 27th (17:13.45).
Crestview’s Mycah Grandstaff clinched State with a seventh-place ending (16:32.88) but the team finished eighth.
St. John’s sophomore Curtis Pohlman ended up 85th (18:09.21).
On the girls side, the Spencerville crew grabbed sixth place, with Karry Purdy’s 22nd place (20:24.46) the best performance and Cierra Adams was 35th (20:51.66).
Individuals that ran but did not advance were Kalida’s Katelyn Siebeneck, 19th (20:08.20), and St. John’s senior Megan Joseph, 27th (20:33.16).
In Division II, the Van Wert boys were runners-up, with Connor Holiday seventh (16:23.37) and Connor Shaffer 17th (16:47.13).
The Lady Cougars cinched fourth, behind the 16th-place finish of Andi Foster (19:47.57) and Amanda Clay’s 18th (19:55.84).
Elida’s Alyssa Turrentine finished 27th (20:11.90).
