|Arrests made in Pleasant Township burglary|

VAN WERT — Van Wert County Sheriff Thomas M. Riggenbach released in a statement two people are in custody for the Pleasant Township residential burglary that occurred on Tuesday.
Riggenbach stated his office received a call that a female matching the suspect’s description had come into a local business and that a truck parked outside the local business matched the description of the vehicle the Sheriff’s Office was looking for.
Deputies were dispatched to the location and the Van Wert Police Department was also contacted to respond. The vehicle left prior to units arriving at the local business.
Additional information was obtained at the scene and broadcast out to other units. A Van Wert City police officer located the vehicle in the southwest part of Van Wert and was able to get the vehicle stopped.
Three subjects were located in the vehicle and transported to the Van Wert County Sheriff’s Office. Deputies continued the investigation which has resulted in the following charges being filed against two people:
— Daniel A. Burke, 38, of Reynoldsburg, one count burglary, a second degree felony; and
— Savannah M. Williams, 26, of Mendon, one count complicity to commit burglary, a second degree felony.
Riggenbach advised that both subjects are being held in the Van Wert County Correctional Facility until their arraignment in Van Wert Municipal Court.
The third subject was not charged and was released.
Riggenbach stated the investigation continues and additional charges could be forthcoming.
Riggenbach also thanked the public for their help by calling the Sheriff’s Office with numerous tips that assisted in the investigation.
The Van Wert County Sheriff’s Office is working with the Hardin County Sheriff’s Office, Hardin County Prosecutor’s Office, Van Wert Police Department, Mercer County Sheriff’s Office and Auglaize County Sheriff’s Office in this investigation.
