DELPHOS — Two Delphos women who were arrested on Van Wert County Grand Jury indictments last week were again indicted during the Allen County Grand Jury September session Friday and arrested through the efforts of the Delphos Police Department and the West Central Ohio Crime Task Force.

Candy J. Brooks, 49, and Catherine E. Wilson, 25, are both in custody, each on one count of trafficking heroin. Brooks’ vehicle was also seized due to its alleged use in the commission of drug sales in Allen County.

Three other Delphos residents were also indicted on drug-related charges Friday, including Phillip L. Cross, 25, one count of trafficking in heroin; and Nichole L. Keirns, 26, for three counts of trafficking in marijuana within a 1,000 feet of a school.

Cross is still being sought and is believed to be in Tennessee. Keirns is in custody.

The third person is also the 10th Delphos person indicted by the Van Wert County Grand Jury last week. Melony R. Sunday, 19, formerly of Delphos and believed to be in the Celina area, is wanted on one count of trafficking in heroin in Van Wert county and two counts of trafficking heroin in Allen County.

Fittro said there was a method to the two separate groups of arrests.

“Splitting the roundup into two phases was the coordination of grand juries. Delphos is split evenly between Van Wert and Allen counties,” Fittro explained. “The arrests that occurred last week originated from Van Wert County Grand Jury indictments. The arrests which occurred Friday originated from Allen County Grand Jury Indictments. Some were inducted in both counties and face new charges from Allen.”

Nine individuals were arrested, totaling 25 separate drug-related indictments and two nondrug-related warrants last week.
