DELPHOS — It’s all about safety.

Bunge North America held the second Progressive Ag Safety Day at Stadium Park Friday with several hundred second- and third-graders and FFA members from the Delphos Public and Parochial schools.

Students were treated to a K-9 demonstration to start the day and then moved through 10 safety stations, including: Grain Safety, Electrical Safety, Farm Equipment Safety, Lawn Mower Safety, Parks and Rec, Fire Safety, First Aid Safety, EMS, Firearms Safety and Water Safety.

Event Coordinator Rob Andrews, crush manager at Bunge, said he was excited about the participation.

“This is a really good turnout,” Andrews said. “When we held the first one last year, we had a great response.”

At the end of the day, four bicycles were given away. Winners were Evelyn Mueller, W. Isaac Cross, Kayden Siygh and Jenna Mossing.

Volunteers included personnel from the Delphos Police and Fire and Rescue departments, Delphos Parks and Rec and local businesses.
