VAN WERT — Van Wert Civic Theatre proudly announces its 2013-2014 season, beginning with the classic Little Women, a musical version of the March sisters. This beautifully written piece captures the tenderness and courage of Louisa May Alcott’s timeless story of family, friendship and mid-19th century American life. Little Women will run from Sept. 26 - Oct. 5.

The season continues Nov. 14-24 with My Three Angels. Set in French Guiana the story follows three convicts employed to repair a roof. But an evil minded cousin and his cold-blooded nephew cause the convicts to redeem themselves as real life angels.

Jan. 16-26 brings the coming of age parable Avenue Q. Its characters lament that as children, they were assured that they were “special” only to discover as adults that in the real world, their options are limited.

Stephen King fans are in for a treat as Misery comes to the VWCT stage March 13-23. Based on King’s best-selling novel, the show follows the main character, Paul Sheldon, who has the misfortune of finding himself in the home of schizophrenic Annie who insists he rewrite his latest novel to stay alive.

The season closes in May with the comedic Insane with Power. A big city journalist stumbles upon a hospital populated with a unique group of quirky inmates who imagine they are crime fighting superheroes! The show runs May 1-20.

Whether you love, comedy, drama, suspense or the classics, Van Wert Civic Theatre is here to provide high quality community theater right in your own backyard. For more information or to purchase season tickets contact Ruth Ann Boley at 419-238-0404 or visit the website at vwct.org.
