COLUMBUS GROVE — The Columbus Grove boys finished second to Minster 64-105 in the Gray Division of Saturday morning’s Columbus Grove Cross Country Invitational.

Colton Grothaus ended up third to lead the Bulldogs individually.

Lincolnview (122) was third behind Bayley Tow’s runner-up finish, with Crestview seventh (167) as Charles Thornburg took sixth, Kalida 11th (348) — Adam von der Embse 41st — Spencerville 15th (410) behind Matt Hurles (56th) and Ottoville 19th (508) — led by Eric Von Sossan’s 87th — out of 20 teams.

On the girls side, the Lady Bearcats were the top local team finisher with a sixth place (172 points) with Karri Purdy leading in eighth, with the LadyCats seventh (180) behind Katelyn Siebeneck’s 13th, the Lady Bulldogs eighth (181) as Alexis Ricker was 23rd, the Lady Knights 11th (262) as Chelsea Hancock placed 26th and the Lady Lancers 13th (310) — out of 13 squads — as Anna Gorman was 24th.

The Lady Green’s lone runner, Elizabeth Luersman, was 92nd.

Spencerville hosts its own quad 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, while Lincolnview and Kalida are in the Spencerville Bearcat Invitational 9 a.m. Saturday and Grove is in the Tiffin Invitational that day.

Ottoville is off until Sept. 10.
