LIMA — St. John’s scored twice in a 2-minute span in the second half to seal a 2-0 girls soccer non-conference victory over Lima Senior on a warm and humid Saturday afternoon on the turf of Lima Stadium.
Senior Madison Kreeger finally broke through for the Lady Blue Jays (1-3-1) as she fired an 8-yarder past Spartan (3-2) goalkeeper Skylar Quintero (6 saves versus nine shots on-goal) at the 13:14 of the second half.
Not much later — at 11:36 — senior Lindsey Warnecke connected with senior Lyndsay Mohler on a corner kick from the right side to the middle, where she chested the ball in from six yards.
The Jays owned the shots (12-5) and those on-goal (9-3), with junior keeper Samantha Wehri grabbing two saves for the visitors.
St. John’s visits Coldwater 5 p.m. Tuesday, while Lima Senior plays Clay Wednesday.
