At 7:20 a.m. Thursday, while on routine patrol, Delphos Police were flagged down by a citizen stating that a vehicle was on fire on the 300 block of South Main Street.

Officers responded to the area and found a van parked at the rear of a residence on fire. The Delphos Fire Department was called to the scene and put out the fire.

Upon investigating, it was found that someone had placed a cloth into the gas tank of the vehicle and had set it on fire.

Detectives were called to the scene and will work with the State Fire Marshall in the investigation.
