Bulldogs pound Musketeers in summer baseball PDF Print E-mail

COLUMBUS GROVE — Columbus Grove’s ACME baseball team opened the summer in impressive fashion, hammering visiting Fort Jennings 20-4 in 4 1/2 innings.

The Bulldogs put up an 8 spot in the bottom of the first.

Riley Brubaker got the win with 4 1/3 innings of 7-strikeout pitching, ceding all four runs.

Dylan VanLoo lasted 2 1/3 frames to take the loss, giving up eight runs (3 earned).

Brubaker helped his cause with a 3-for-4 night at the plate (3 runs, 3 runs batted in), along with 3-for-5 each for Elisha Jones (3 runs, 2 RBIs) and Josh Verhoff (2 runs), 2-for-3 from Marcos Olivo and 2-for-4 by Mason Smith (2 runs, 2 RBIs each).

The Musketeers only had three hits: Mark Metzger and Alex Sealts (1 run, 1 RBI) and Jared Hoersten (run).
