Van Wert man sentenced to 3 years PDF Print E-mail

Three persons changed their pleas Wednesday morning and three more were sentenced before Judge Charles Steele in Van Wert County Common Pleas Court.

 

Changes of pleas

Ashley Sterling, 28, Delphos changed her plea to guilty to nonsupport of dependents, a felony of the fifth degree. She then requested and was granted admission to the prosecutor’s diversion program.

The case against her was pending completion of the diversion program.

 

Patrick Sweeten, 56, Van Wert, changed his plea to guilty to assault on a police officer, a felony of the fourth degree.

The court ordered a pre-sentence investigation and set sentencing for July 10.

Terry Warren, Jr., 26, Van Wert, changed his plea to guilty to one count of possession of drugs, a felony of the fifth degree. A second count for the same offense was dismissed for his plea.

Sentencings

Dominique Brown, 27, Defiance, was sentenced on a charge of aggravated assault, a felony of the fourth degree.

Her sentence was three years community control, 180 days electronic house arrest, additional 30 days jail, 100 hours community service, psychological assessment and treatment, two years intensive probation, ordered to pay court costs and partial appointed attorney fees. A 12-month prison term was deferred pending completion of community control.

Amber Wollet, 32, Ohio City, was sentenced for aggravated possession of drugs, a felony of the fifth degree.

Her sentence was three years community control, 30 days electronic house arrest, additional 30 days jail, 100 hours community service, substance abuse assessment and treatment, two years intensive probation, driver’s license suspended for six months, ordered to pay court costs and partial appointed attorney fees. Nine months in prison was deferred pending completion of community control.

 

William Crutchfield, 40, Van Wert, was sentenced on a charge of felonious assault, a felony of the second degree.

He was sentenced to three years prison with credit for 138 days already served. He was also ordered to pay court costs.
