SPENCERVILLE — Spencerville’s girls track and field team finished third out of 17 teams at Spencerville’s Division III District meet Thursday and Saturday, with the top four in each event advancing to the Piqua Regional Wednesday and Saturday.

The Lady Bearcats were led by 4-event qualifier Kacie Mulholland (1st in the 100-, 200- and 400-meter dashes and teaming with Kennedy Sharp, Karri Purdy and Jacey Grigsby, fourth in the 4x4; Sharp, third in the open 400; Purdy, third in the 800 run; Schylar Miller, second in the pole vault and fourth in the 100-meter hurdles; Jenna Kahle, third in the 100 hurdles; and Abby Freewalt and Katie Merriman, first and fourth in the shot put.

Lincolnview, which finished eighth in the girls race, qualified Kaylee Thatcher second in the 100 hurdles and the 4x1 relay of Thatcher, Taylor Miller, Sarah Harris and Haley McAbee fourth.

Jefferson (11th) qualified the 4x1 of Corinne Metzger, Taylor Stroh, Brooke Gallmeier and Chelsey Bishop third and the 4x200-meter relay of Bishop, Gallmeier, Rileigh Stockwelland Brooke Teman fourth.

St. John’s (9th) sent Megan Joseph on to Regionals, third in the 1,600-meter run.

On the boys side, Spencerville finished fourth by qualifying Anthony Schuh second in the 110-meter hurdles and third in the 300 hurdles; Lucas Shumate and Logan Vandemark, first and third in the discus; and Trevor McMichael, Zach Goecke, Joe Wisher and Derek Goecke, fourth in the 4x4.

The Blue Jays (5th) sent relays of Will Buettner, Jared Knebel, Mark Boggs and Jake Hays, second in the 4x4; Buettner, Luke MacLennan, Ben Youngpeter and Nick Martz, second in the 4x1; and Buettner, fourth in the open 200.

The Lancers (6th) had a quartet of boys: Bayley Tow first and Jeff Jacomet third in the 1,600-meter run; and Evan Williams and Hunter Blankmeyer went 3-4 in the 110 hurdles.

Jefferson qualified senior Cody Biglow first in the 110-meter hurdles and second in the 300s.

Crestview (6th) had a champion in the 3,200-meter run (Mycah Grandstaff); its 4x200-meter relay of Isaiah Kline, Preston Zaleski, Malcolm Oliver and Zach Jellison, finishing third; and Kline, third in the 400-meter dash.
