Knights down Lady Bulldogs

COLUMBUS GROVE — Crestview jumped on Columbus for three runs in the top of the first inning Monday night and went on to an 11-4 Northwest Conference fast-pitch softball triumph at Columbus Grove.
Terra Crowle paced the visiting Lady Knights with a 3-for-4 day (4 runs batted in, 1 run), while Kirstin Hicks was 3-for-4 (2 runs, 2 RBIs) and Mackenzie Rigginbach 2-for-3 (2 runs) in an 11-hit attack.
Kara Birkmeier led the host Lady Bulldogs with 1-for-2 (2 RBIs, 1 run), while Micah Stechschulte was 1-for-3 (1 RBI) and Hope Schroeder 1-for-4 (1 run).
Crowle got the win with six innings pitched (3 hits, 4 runs, 3 earned, 4 walks, 5 strikeouts). Courtney Grote mopped up (1 IP, 1 hit).
Bobbi Heckel took the complete-game loss (7 IPs, 11 hits, 11 runs, 7 earned, 5 BB, 3 Ks).
Grove hosts Leipsic 5 p.m. today and visits Jefferson Thursday. Crestview visits Bath Wednesday.

Titans bounce Archbold in boys tennis

ARCHBOLD — The Ottawa-Glandorf boys tennis crew bested Archbold 4-1 Monday at Archbold.
The Titans won all three singles: Alex Schroeder bested Bryce Tinsman 6-2, 6-3; Zach Bruskotter crushed Jesse Felix 6-1, 6-0; and Brenden Drerup whipped Riley Krueger 6-4, 6-0.
O-G also won the first doubles: Trevor Kuhlman and Brandon Hempfling over Seth Strawn and Antonio Cuellar 6-4, 6-1.
Archbold’s Ryan King and Brodie Ranzau won 6-2, 6-0 at second doubles over Brandon Lehman and John Schroeder.
