Monte D. Druckemiller, 66, of Delphos passed away at 7:15 p.m. Tuesday at St. Rita’s Medical Center.
He was born in Van Wert to Oris and Ruby (Zellers) Druckemiller, who preceded him in death.
On Aug. 20, 1966, he married Jeanne Mox, who survives in Delphos.
Survivors also include one son, Keaton (Christina) Druckemiller of Delphos; three daughters, Bonnie (Steve) Buettner of Delphos, Beth (Trent Unterbrink) Slattman of Lucky and Jodi (David Bullock) Caputo of Delphos; three sisters, Juanita Ringer of Van Wert, Mary Lou Buschor of Mendon and Wilma McBride of Delphos; two brothers-in-law, George Mox of Delphos and Joe (Jan) Mox of Naperville, Ill.; one sister-in-law, Judy Green of Delphos; and 11 grandchildren, Brent and Emily Buettner, Hunter and Gavin Slattman, Kathryn, Jeffrey and Mia Caputo, Ethan, Ella, Liam and Sophia Druckemiller.
He was preceded in death by four brothers, Coy, Richard “R.D.,” Oris Jr. and Paul Druckemiller; and one sister, Lois Tyler.
Mr. Druckemiller worked at Fruehauf as the purchasing agent until the company closed. He was currently working at Paragon Service and Supply in Lima as a sales rep.
He was in the Ohio National Guard for seven years.
He was a member of Trinity Methodist Church and Eagles Post 471. He served on the Board of the Civil Service Commission and was currently the president. He was past president of the Stadium Club, where he was also a charter member. He also served on the Board of Directors of the Delphos Recreation Association.
Delphos residents remember Monte for his years playing softball for the Rustic and his coaching midget football for the Vikings football team. He was a diehard Browns and Indians fan.
In all of Monte’s endeavors, the most important to him was his faith and his family, especially his grandchildren.
Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday at Trinity United Methodist Church, Reverend David Howell officiating, with calling one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in the Walnut Grove Cemetery with Military Grave Rites by the Delphos Veterans Council.
Family and friends may call from 5-8 p.m. today and from 2-8 p.m. on Friday at Harter and Schier Funeral Home.
