Catholic Ladies of Columbia Council 30 of Ottoville met recently in the family room of the Parish Center.
Present were 13 members and two guests.

President Ruth Miller told about an officers meeting in February, at which time, some discussion was held regarding upcoming projects, which were then presented at the meeting.

For the group’s Join Hands Day project, they joined with the First Communion parents and children for the annual church cleaning. They also made a monetary donation for MS.

Several thank you notes were read, along with other correspondence. A copy of the annual report of the council’s 2012 Fraternal Community Contributions was passed around.

The membership voted on a monetary contribution to Right to Life instead of a collection at the church doors this year.

For one of the charitable donations, they voted to give a donation to the local EMS.

The possibility of a casino trip again this summer was discussed. Details will follow as plans and a date develop.

Following the closing prayer, gifts were presented to honored Golden Wedding couples: Joe and Dorothy Ruen and Mike and Agnes Swint. They were seated at a decorated table centered by a beautiful cake. A game of remembering wedding trivia was played with the honored couples answering. Several games of bingo were played.

A delightful lunch was served and the evening was closed wishing the honored couples well.
