DELPHOS — Work to reinforce the walls of the Delphos Municipal Swimming Pool will continue this spring with the west end of the pool.
According to Delphos Parks and Recreation Superintendent Craig Mansfield, the west wall will be reinforced with stainless steel. Last year, the east side was reinforced and 3 1/2 panels were installed on the west side to address a leak, leaving a little less to the project this year.
New shade tents will be installed this year. The June 29, 2012 storm damaged many of the pool tents.
Mansfield said the some concrete issues near the diving boards will also be addressed.
The city received a $22,000 grant from the Dienstberger Foundation in December to help cover the cost of the upkeep and repairs to the pool.
Mansfield added that letters are ready to be sent to last year’s pool employees inviting them to return and eight lifeguards are currently gaining certification through the Putnam County YMCA.
