Sadler is retiring after 26 years with the library, over half of which she has spent as the Technology Coordinator. When she got started in 1986, her job was a lot simpler. “I knew a lady who worked here and she said they needed someone. She told me to put my application in and I did,” Sadler said. “Before I was technology coordinator, I was what you could call a library assistant. I handled billing, over-dues, and processed the books. I’ve probably done just about everything except the director and assistant director position.” When she moves on to the next phase of her life, Sadler will miss spending time at the library. “I’ll miss the staff the most, I think. They become like a second family,” Sadler said. “I’ll miss the patrons, too; you get to know a lot of people. I’ll also miss cataloguing the books; that’s my favorite part besides the people. It’s a great job; I’ve thoroughly enjoyed it here.” “I just plan on relaxing and enjoying my family, my children and grandchildren,” she added. “I would also like to do some volunteer work.” To read the rest of this article please subscribe or sign in |
