The Catholic Daughters of America, Delphos Court recently hosted an open meeting featuring Dr. Eddy Bruno, a physician specializing in psychiatry. Dr. Bruno spoke about depression and its effects. He informed the crowd about medications, treatments and the signs that might indicate the development of depression. After the main speaker, Sara Berelsman, spoke about the local support group available to all ages, male or female.
The CDofA also learned of the huge success of the bake sale during the Lincoln Highway garage sales. The money earned will go to benefit many needy in the area. A donation was made to Children’s Medical Missions to help with the medical bills of children coming to the United States for urgent surgeries. A donation was also made to the YWCA of Van Wert County for the purchase of health and cleaning products for the homeless families housed in the facilities.
The September meeting of CD of A will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday at the Knights of Columbus Hall.
This will be a member’s potluck and members are also asked to bring a paper or cleaning product for donation to the homeless.
