A Delphos man is in Van Wert County Jail on a number of theft related charges after Delphos Police served a search warrant on an apartment at the Old Lincoln Inn.
Shaun R. Duckett, 21, was arrested on Tuesday morning by police after they located several pieces of stolen property linked to thefts from autos in Delphos and Van Wert County in his apartment.
According to Delphos Police Chief Kyle Fittro, starting in May of this year, Delphos Police began to notice an increase in theft offenses primarily concentrated on the west side of the city. The offenses generally involved the perpetrator entering motor vehicles and stealing contents from within those vehicles. Some of these thefts occurred while vehicles were parked outside “out in the open” and some occurred while the vehicles were parked in the victims’ garages. Usually taken during the thefts were money, loose change, electronic devices of all types and tools.
