DELPHOS — Thomas B. Miller, 87, of Delphos passed away on Saturday at Sarah Jane Living Center in Delphos.

He was born Dec. 24, 1929, in Landeck to Ferd and Agnes (Pohlman) Miller, who preceded him in death. He was united in marriage to the love of his life Agnes Grothouse on Sept. 20, 1951. She survives in Delphos. They had celebrated 65 years of marriage.

He is survived by three sons, Denny (Melanie) Miller of Middle Point, Gary (Pat) Miller of Dayton and Mark (Linda) Miller of Delphos; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, Rick Miller, whose wife Michelle Miller survives in Toledo.

He was a member of St. John’s the Evangelist Catholic Church, K of C 1362, Eagles 471, American Legion 268, a life member of the VFW 3035, the Delphos Car Club, and the Lima Elks. Tom worked for Shardco Cable Vision, now known as Time Warner Cable, as their chief technician and operational manager, where he set up, designed and installed the first cable systems in Delphos. He started with them in 1968, retiring after 25 years of service. In retirement, he started working for Harter and Son Funeral Home from 1993 until present. In his younger years, he had his own milk route, played the accordion in the family band, coached Little League Baseball and was a Cub Scout Master. Tom was an Army Veteran during the Korean War; Tom was in charge of the service for honoring and burying of the fallen soldiers. He was there to meet them at the airport and stayed with them until military grave rites where complete. He was an avid car enthusiast, especially with the Mustangs he collected.

Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11 a.m. on Friday at St. John’s the Evangelist Catholic Church, with military grave rites by the Delphos Veterans Council. Father George Mahas will be officiating. Burial will follow in St. John’s Catholic Cemetery.

Friends may call on from 2-8 p.m. Thursday at Harter and Schier Funeral Home, where a K of C Rosary service will be held at 7 p.m. and a parish wake at 7:30 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, Delphos St. John’s School, or Delphos Jefferson.
