CHAROLOTTE, North Carolina — Kay Irene Harp Luersman, 76, Charlotte, North Carolina, formerly of Delphos, passed away peacefully on Dec. 23, 2017.

She was born in Kenton to Harold R. And Ollie M Williams, who preceeded her in death.

Kay married Dennis E Harp on March 10, 1958. She later married Richard “Pic” Luersman.

She is survived by her three daughters, Tammy (Bill) Hanf of Charlotte, North Carolina, Terri (Russ) Havens of Springboro and Traci West of Ravennna. Also surviving are two brothers, Gary and Wyatt Williams; and two sisters, Meri Williams and Dawn Pontius. She is further survived by six grandchildren, Shannon Hanf of Troy, Troy (Terri) Hanf of Vandalia, Matthew (Karli) Miller of Louisville, Kentucky, Nikolas (Cerrissa) Miller of Woodland Park, Colorado, and Tyler (Brittany) Hanf and Joshua Hanf of Charlotte. She has seven great-grandchildren, Serenity Miller, Damian Hanf, Brayden Hanf, Vincent Hanf, MacKayla Miller, Aria Hanf and Felicity Miller.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her infant daughter, Tina Lee Harp; and a son-in-law, Robert West.

Kay spent more than 37 years giving care to the elderly as a certified nursing assistant in Delphos. She attended Delphos Wesleyan Church.

Kay was an avid reader and especially enjoyed mysteries. She loved music and in her younger years was a soloist and pianist. She enjoyed travel and spending time with her family.

Her family requests that any memorials be made to the Delphos Public Library or the Hospice of the giver’s choice.

A private memorial celebration will be held at the convenience of the family.
