COLUMBUS — Harold ‘Hal’ Morse was born Dec. 16, 1925, to Harley and Goldie (Buchanan) Morse. He passed away on Saturdasy at age 92, spending his last days at home surrounded by family.

Hal was a World War II Army veteran, serving his country from 1944-46. He was a rifleman and earned several badges including the Combat Infantry Badge. Hal retired in 1991 from the Ohio Bureau of Employment Services (OBES). Prior to that, he worked other jobs including many years in sales at Val-u-House, a bygone Hilltop retail store; and as manager of Buckeye Finance.

Hal is preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Fred; his sisters, Mary Lucille, Elizabeth and Margaret; and his son-in-law Rodd Patmon.

He is survived by his loving and caring wife of 29 years, Patricia Morse; his children Kathy (Denny) Stemen, Karen Patmon and H. David Morse; his stepchildren, Michael (Karin), Steve (Dorinda), Patrick (Patty) and Jeff (Kelly) Sullivan; his brother-in-law, John Dickson; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Calling hours are Wednesday, March 7, from 3:00 – 7:00 at Maeder-Quint-Tiberi Funeral Home, 1068 S. High St., Columbus, where service will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday. Interment Saint Joseph Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made to the American Red Cross, American Cancer Society, Mount Carmel Hospice or charity of choice.
