The following is a weekly report concerning construction and maintenance work on State highways within the Ohio Department of Transportation District 1.

Allen County

Interstate 75 between state Route 81 to just north of Fourth Street will be reduced to one lane through the work zone for repair of pavement under warranty. Work is expected to begin Monday, Oct. 23, and will occur in both the northbound and southbound direction from approximately 3 a.m. to 2 p.m. each day. The repair is expected to continue for approximately three weeks.

State Route 309 westbound (Elida Road) between Robb Avenue and Homeward Avenue is reduced to one lane for installation of a sidewalk. Work is occurring during daytime hours only and is expected to be completed by the beginning of the week. No lane restrictions will remain during overnight hours.

The following locations will be reduced to one lane through the work zone for sealing of pavement cracks:

— State Route 81 from Kemp Road to the Van Wert County line

— State Route 309, east of Lima, from the Allen County fairgrounds to the Hardin County line

— State Route 117 from Eastown Road to Spencerville

— State Route 117 from the Allen County fairgrounds to the Hardin County line

U.S. 30, both eastbound and westbound, between Beaverdam and the Hancock County line will be reduced to one lane through the work zone for pavement repair.

Interstate 75, and also Bentley Road and Napoleon Road will be affected during bridge deck replacements on Napoleon Road over I-75, Beaverdam, and Bentley Road over I-75, Bluffton. The following are current impacts related to the project:

Napoleon Road

Napoleon Road bridge over I-75 closed May 22 and will remain closed until late October.

Traffic detoured onto Sugar Creek Road, Swaney Road and Lincoln Highway (State Route 696) back to Napoleon Road.

The northbound exit ramp from I-75 to Napoleon Road closed May 30 until late October.

Traffic detoured north on I-75, east on Lincoln Highway (State Route 696), south on Swaney Road and west on Sugar Creek Road back to Napoleon Road; or west onto Lincoln Highway (state Route 696) back to South West Street in Beaverdam.

The entrance ramp to I-75 southbound from Napoleon Road will remain open

Motorists traveling northbound on I-75 wishing to access State Route 696 are advised to do so via exit 135 (State Route 696/U.S. 30) at Beaverdam. No access to State Route 696 from I-75 northbound at the Napoleon Road exit will be available.

Bentley Road (exit 140)

Two bridges on Bentley Road at exit 140 (one over I-75 and one over the railroad north of I-75) closed June 5. Bentley Road and the southbound entrance ramp were scheduled to open Friday The opening of the southbound exit ramp may be delayed until power for a traffic signal at the ramp is available.

I-75 northbound traffic will be detoured to the State Route 103 (exit 142) interchange back to Bentley Road.

I-75 southbound traffic is advised to access Bentley Road via the State Route 103 interchange (exit 142) and follow State Route 103 through Bluffton back to Bentley Road.

The northbound ramps at the interchange remain open; however, left turns onto Bentley Road from northbound I-75 are not permitted.

Interstate 75

I-75 both northbound and southbound will be periodically reduced to one lane at times beneath both the Napoleon Road and Bentley Road bridge structures during certain operations related to construction.

Lane closures will occur sporadically and are expected to occur mostly during daytime hours but some nighttime closures may occur.

Putnam County

County Road 12, between 613 and township Road F-12 will close Oct. 30 for approximately five days for a culvert replacement beneath County Road 12. No access to county Road 12 southbound from state Route 613 will be possible.

State Route 65 north of the village of Belmore will closed Friday for approximately three days for a railroad crossing repair. Traffic detoured onto state Route 613, state Route 109 and state Route 18 back to state Route 65.

State Route 65 near county Road 5 is currently scheduled to close Tuesday for three days for a railroad crossing repair. Traffic detoured onto state Route 613, state Route 109 and state Route 18 back to state Route 65.

State Route 189 in the village of Rimer between Main Street and Water Street will close Monday for approximately three days for removal of a railroad bed. Traffic detoured onto state Route 634, U.S. 224 and state Route 115 back to state Route 189.

State Route 109 just south of Road C-H, north of Ottawa will be reduced to one lane through the work zone for pavement repair.

State Route 190 between Fort Jennings and U.S. 224 closed Oct. 9 for approximately one month during pavement repair. Access to residences will be maintained during the closure. Resurfacing of the route will follow pavement repairs. Traffic is detoured onto state Route 634 and U.S. 224.

Van Wert County

State Route 709 between Jonestown Road and Venedocia Street/Marys Road, west of Venedocia, will closed Oct. 9 for approximately 14 days for bridge repair at two locations. Traffic detoured onto State Route 116, State Route 81 and U.S. 127 back to State Route 81.

U.S. 30, both eastbound and westbound, is restricted to one lane through the work zone at the following locations for projects which will repair the pavement and joints, improve drainage and resurface the route:

— From just east of Township Road 127 to just east of County Road 185

— From U.S. 224 to near the Indiana state line

— Paving is under way and will continue for two weeks with traffic reduced to one lane through the work zone.

— The eastbound and westbound rest areas on U.S. 30 west of Van Wert are now open following repair and resurfacing of the entrances and exits.

— The truck weigh station is now open

The project will complete in November.

The ramps at the U.S. 224 interchange with U.S. 30 will be affected by the project as follows:

— The exit ramp from U.S. 30 westbound to U.S. 224 and the entrance ramp from U.S. 224 to U.S. 30 westbound are expected to open this week.

— U.S. 30 westbound to U.S. 224 traffic detoured onto U.S. 30 westbound to State Route 49 back to U.S. 224.

— U.S. 224 to U.S. 30 westbound traffic detoured onto U.S. 30 eastbound to U.S. 127 back to U.S. 30 westbound.

— The ramps on the south side of the interchange will remain open.

— All ramps at the interchange will be resurfaced.
