DELPHOS — On Oct. 26, officers were dispatched to the 200 block of South Pierce Street in reference to a theft complaint. A male there told officers that he made an arrangement with an individual on Facebook to purchase a cell phone. The two met at a local business and completed the transaction. The complainant stated that after the seller had already left, he discovered that the box did not contain a cell phone. The incident remains under investigation.

On Oct. 27, officers located a female identified as 55-year-old Diana Hickman of Delphos and took her into custody on a warrant out of Allen County for failure to appear in court. Hickman was transported to the Allen County Jail.

On Sunday, officers met with a female in the 1100 block of South Clay Street after she reported a theft incident. The female stated that an unknown subject entered her vehicle and stole items from inside.

On Sunday, an officer on patrol conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle after observing it being operated with an equipment violation. During the traffic stop, officers were granted permission to search the vehicle and found marijuana and paraphernalia. The driver, 18-year-old Austin Nelson, was issued a summons to appear in Lima Municipal Court to face the charges.

On Monday, officers were sent to the 500 block of Fort Jennings Road to do a welfare check on a female threatening to harm herself. Officers arrived and found that the female had left the residence in a vehicle. After a short time, officers were able to determine the female’s location, which was in Mercer County. Contact was made with Mercer County Sheriff’s Office and the female was located and transported to the hospital for evaluation and treatment.

On Monday, an officer on patrol conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle after observing it to have an equipment violation. Officers made contact with the driver, 32-year-old Jordan Basinger of Venedocia. During the traffic stop, officers found probable cause to arrest Basinger for operating the vehicle while intoxicated. Basinger was issued a citation for OVI as well as two headlights required. He will appear in Van Wert Municipal Court to face the charges.

On Tuesday, officers responded to a residence in the 500 block of South Adams Street. A female at the residence reported that a wooden flag was stolen from her yard.

On Wednesday, officers met with a female in the 900 block of Lima Avenue, who reported a menacing incident. The female told officers that another female has been harassing her and threatening her in the work place and also at her residence. The female requested a report and was instructed on the process of obtaining a protection order.

On Thursday, a female came to the police department to report a theft. The female told officers that a temporary tag was stolen from her vehicle possibly while parked in Delphos. The female had the temp tag replaced at the dealership and they advised her to file a police report.
