DELPHOS — On March 11, an officer on patrol observed the driver of a
vehicle commit a traffic offense on East Fifth Street. The officer
conducted a traffic stop and met with the driver, 20-year-old Devon
Dunlap of Lima. The officer found that Dunlap was operating the vehicle
on a suspended driver’s license and issued him a citation for a
non-compliance suspension. He will appear in Lima Municipal Court to
face the charge.
On March 11, officers were dispatched to the 400
block of West Clime Street in reference to an altercation. Officers
arrived and located a male and female who were highly intoxicated that
had been involved in the altercation. During the investigation of the
dispute, officers found the male, 36-year-old Nicholas Marbach of Fort
Wayne, to be carrying a concealed firearm. Marbach had a concealed carry
permit, but Ohio law prohibits anyone from carrying a firearm while
under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Marbach was arrested and
transported to the Van Wert County Jail. He will appear in Van Wert
Municipal Court to face the charge.
On Sunday, an officer on
patrol conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle after discovering that the
license plate was not on the vehicle that it was registered to. During
the traffic stop, the officer also discovered that the driver, Robert
Downing of Lima, was operating the vehicle on a suspended driver’s
license. Downing was issued a citation for an OVI court suspension and
fictitious plates. He will appear in Van Wert Municipal Court.
Monday, an officer on patrol observed a vehicle being operated by Lacy
Sheets of Delphos. The officer had obtained information that Sheets’
driver’s license was suspended and initiated a traffic stop. Sheets was
issued a citation for operating the vehicle under a non-compliance
suspension. She will appear in Lima Municipal Court.
officers along, with Delphos Fire and Rescue, responded for a male who
had been dropped off at St. Rita’s Ambulatory Care suffering from a drug
overdose. Officers met with the male and ambulatory care staff after
they had administered treatment. The male had regained consciousness and
refused any further treatment.
On Wednesday, an officer on patrol
observed a vehicle being operated by 51-year-old Malinda Williams of
Delphos. The officer had prior knowledge that Williams’ driving
privileges were suspended. A traffic stop was conducted and Williams was
issued a citation for a non-compliance suspension. She will appear in
Lima Municipal Court to face the charges.
On Wednesday, officers
were sent to a business in the 200 block of West Second Street in
reference to the business receiving harassing phone calls. An employee
at the business advised officers that a male caller was calling
repeatedly saying things that caused her to be in fear for her safety.
Officers were able to determine the identity of the male and met with
him on Thursday. The male, who is a juvenile, is currently on probation
and a copy of the report will be sent to his probation officer. Charges
for Telecommunications Harassment are also being considered in this
