DELPHOS — The Delphos Veterans of Foriegn Wars Post 3035 recently sponsored a youth essay competition giving current sixth-, seventh- and eighth-grade students the opportunity to write an essay expressing their views on an annual patriotic theme, which for this year was, “America’s Gift to My Generation.”

Students were judged on their knowledge of the theme, clarity of ideas and overall theme development.
