Franklin gets in Christmas spirit

Kiya Wollenhaupt, left, and Lauryn McCann, right, step up to the microphones to sing their parts in “Rockin’ Down the Chimney Tonight.”Franklin Elementary School fifth- grade students performed their Christmas production, “Santa’s Stuck in the 50’s,” Thursday. It was written by Sally K. Albrecht and Jay Althouse. Under the direction of Tammy Wirth, the kids sang songs about the importance of remembering why gifts are received rather than what gifts are received.
Santa and Mrs. Claus, played by Nick Long and Rebecca Violet, talk about how the toys from the 50’s are still popular today.
