Business Journal Publisher Don Hemple and keynote speaker Donna Grimm welcomed the class of 2010.
Grimm spoke on her experience as a leader and driving force behind Community Health Professionals in Van Wert, noting that “you need to have fun and enjoy your job to be successful.”
The class of 2010 includes:
Angela Snyder — patient and community relations manager at Van Wert County Hospital
Snyder is an active member of the Van Wert community as a board member of the American Red Cross, Van Wert Public Television, American Cancer Society, Van Wert County Economic Development and the Legislative Affairs Committee of the Van Wert Chamber. She is an appointed member of the Ohio Area 8 Workforce Investment Board, co-chair of the 2010 Van Wert Relay for Life and an active member of the American Red Cross Disaster Services Team.
Kirk Berryman — president and co-owner of Computer & Networking Technologies of Van Wert
Berryman graduated from Lincolnview High School in 1991 and earned an associate’s degree in marketing and management from Lima Technical College in 1995. Married to his wife, Erica, for 13 years, they have two children: Allison, 11, and Adam, 7.
CNT is a reseller of computers and computer hardware, provides Microsoft networking, services businesses and home users of computers. It also provides sales, repair and managed services for businesses in northwest and west central Ohio. In January 2005, CNT expanded and added a store in Celina. CNT currently has seven employees and is a reseller of Dell, Lenova, Acer, Toshiba, Ultra, HP, Compaq, Microsoft and Linksys/Cisco.
Berryman also farms with his father and brother.
Ed Ezelle — owner of Pat’s Donuts and Kreme
Ezelle is a graduate of St. John’s High School and the University of Toledo. He and wife took over the Pat’s Donuts and Kreme in Lima in 2005 and expanded to a fourth store in Delphos in 2009. He resides in Delphos with his wife and children.
Mike Fiedler — CEO and owner of FESTEC Automation in Delphos
Fiedler, 31, is a graduate of Wayne Trace High School and Owens Community College. He has always been involved in electrical work and started Fiedler Electric in 2004 in Cloverdale. He moved the business to Delphos in July 2008 and changed the name to FESTEC Automation.
Sara Zura — construction engineer at Alexander & Bebout, Inc., In Van Wert
Zura is a 2000 graduate of Van Wert High School and graduated cum laude from the University of Toledo with a bachelor of science degree in civil engineering. She earned her “Professional Engineer” status in 2007. She is the granddaughter of Tom and Sylvia Alexander, owners of Alexander & Bebout, and uses her engineering skills to assist in sales and design on design/build construction projects and provides technical knowledge.
She began work in 2001 with the Ohio Department of Transportation District II and was assigned as field project engineer on the Veteran’s Glass City Skyway Bridge in Toledo, responsible for drilled shafts, piers, caps and the upper pylon.
She is married to Thomas Zura, a civil engineer for the ODOT. They live in Defiance with their son, Tyler, and their chocolate lab, Sophie.
Trevor Bebout — vice president of Bebout & Houg Roofing and Siding Inc. in Van Wert
Bebout has been with Bebout & Houg for six years. He is a member of the Van Wert and Delphos area chambers of commerce, the Van Wert Rotary and former Van Wert City councilman. He is married to Nikki, who works at Central Mutual in Van Wert, and has two daughters. They are members of First United Methodist Church in Van Wert.
Krista Schrader — owner of Schrader Realty
Schrader received her Ohio Real Estate License in 2002 and her broker’s license in 2006 at the age of 22. She started her own real estate company in January. She is a member of the Ohio and National Realtors. She received the Ohio Association of Realtors President’s Sales Award in 2006 and 2009. The Jefferson High School graduate is married and resides in Delphos with her husband and two children.
Melinda Bowden — owner and promotions specialist of PromoHits! Ltd. in Bluffton
Bowden has owned her own business since 2000 and since that time, has increased her staff to four, including herself. PromoHits! has received numerous awards from the Findlay-Hancock and Lima-Allen County chambers of commerce. She is also an active volunteer with Marimor Industries and United Way. She has also earned her Master Advertising Specialist and Certified Advertising Specialist designation.
Jennifer Moenter — executive director, Delphos Area Chamber of Commerce
Moenter, in her three years as executive director, has attributed the expansion of the benefits of the chamber, making it more relevant, while attaining a membership retention level of 98 percent. She is a member of Chamber of Commerce Executives of Ohio and attends various chamber-related seminars throughout the year. She is a Jefferson High School graduate and has taken multiple courses in business management, accounting and psychology. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, cooking and spending time with her family and friends. She and her husband, Scott, reside in Delphos with their three children ages 13, 3 and 2.
Brian Altenburger — owner of Altenburger Investment Properties and The Dairy Hut in Delphos
Altenburger is a St. John’s High School alumnus and graduated with honors from the University of Findlay with a B.A. in criminal justice/psychology. He manages properties in Delphos as well as operating The Dairy Hut. He said he tries to instill skills such as customer service, honesty, respect and hard work in his teenage employees. A Delphos native, Altenburger, along his wife, Michelle, donate to the Delphos Police Department, D.A.R.E. programs, youth baseball, Optimist Club and various churches and youth-related organizations. He has two rules of thumb: “you have less than 20 seconds to win someone over wanting to do business with you”; and “it’s not necessarily the product you are selling that keeps your customers coming back — it’s the way you make them feel.”
Thomas Keith — director of community information at Otterbein Portage Valley in Pemberville
At the age of 29, Keith may still be the youngest executive director of a continuing-care retirement community in Ohio and perhaps the U.S. He has been with Otterbein Portage Valley since 2007, where he supervises a large team that manages housing and care for those who are 55 and older in 74 independent villas, 32 independent apartments, 32 assisted-living suites and 50 skilled-nursing beds, including rehabilitation services. He manages an $8.3 million operating budget, 125 employees, a large board of directors and several resident communities. At the age of 20, Keith received his degree in gerontology/long-term care administration from Bowling Green State University and finished his study and internship at Mount Washington Care Center in Cincinnati.
Christine Clymer — director of Lima Memorial Professional Corp. in Lima.
Clymer has shown outstanding leadership, passion and dedication in her eight years with LMPC. She works hand-in-hand with more than 50 health-care providers to effectively manage their practices so they can focus solely on patient care. She worked to better Lima and the surrounding area by involving LMPC in many community events to help improve health education. She is also active with the Columbus Grove Chamber of Commerce and volunteers with the Putnam County D.A.R.E. Program.
Amy Rode — director of public relations and marketing at SAFY in Delphos
Rode joined SAFY in 2002 and held a variety of internal positions before assuming her current role in 2007. She manages SAFY’s public relations and marketing efforts throughout 25 regions in eight states. Her duties include crisis management, media relations and corporate communications. Prior to joining SAFY, she served as a sergeant in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Germany. She holds a master of business administration from Bluffton University and is a member of the Public Relations Society of America, Delphos Rotary Club, Allen-Lima Leadership and the VFW. She also serves on the Delphos Area Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors and the Clear Channel Lima Advisory Board. She is originally from the Lima area and currently resides in Delphos with her family.
Shawn Dancer — owner of Dancer Logistics, Dancer National Leasing, AmShaw Service Center and Global Warehousing in Delphos
Dancer is a 1998 Jefferson High School graduate. He started Dancer Logistics in 2004 with eight employees and now has 30. He serves the 48 continental U.S. states and Canada with a fleet of trucks bringing consumers goods for everyday living. In 2007, he started Dancer National Leasing and AmShaw Service Center after seeing a need for a full-service truck, trailer and fleet warranty repair facility. Global Warehousing provides public and contract warehouse was started and a year later, a cold storage facility was added.
Clint Gable — owner of Elite Naturescapes in Delphos
Gable is a 1993 The Ohio State University graduate with a B.S. in landscape horticulture and has worked in the industry for nearly 20 years. He started Elite Naturescapes in 1995 on his family’s farm and moved to his current location just east of Delphos. He also taught adult education classes at Apollo, presented landscape lectures for Royal Caribbean cruises and landscape talks for local garden clubs. Elite Weddings is a division of Elite Naturescapes and is run by his wife, Diane. He has his wife and two children reside in Delphos.
Amy Mox — owner of Curves in Delphos
Mox is a graduate of OSU with a degree in accounting and the University of Findlay with a degree in human resources. She purchased the Delphos Curves in 2007 and offers in the Silver Sneakers program for older adults, participates in church activities and her daughter’s Brownie Troop.
Al Saylor — Citizens National Bank in Van Wert
Saylor is vice president of commercial lending at CNB. He is a Wayne Trace High School and Defiance College graduate and has been with CNB for eight years. He deals with business owners on a daily basis, providing solutions to their financial needs and puts customers first. He is married and has two children.
Andy Mox — owner of Recharge Enterprise in Delphos
Mox has a master’s degree from the University of Findlay. He purchased Recharge 10 years ago and has since expanded 8-fold. He is on the Delphos Area Chamber Board of Directors.
Kurt Neeper — marketing director at Superior Federal Credit Union
Neeper is also an adjunct professor in marketing and management at Rhodes State College and OSU and is a former Lima City Council member. He is a member of Lima Young Professionals and the Lima-Allen County Chamber of Commerce.
Greg Yinger — communications director for Community Health Professionals, Inc., Van Wert
Yinger has been with CHP for more than 16 years. He graduated from Anderson University in Indiana in 1993 with a bachelor’s degree in mass communication and oversees communications for CHP’s nine offices and two in-patient hospice centers throughout northwest/west central Ohio. Over the years, Yinger has been involved with various community organizations, including the Optimist Club of Van Wert, American Cancer Society and Calvary Evangelical Church.
