Ottoville holds NHS food drive

In what’s become an Ottoville High School tradition, the National Honor Society sponsored its annual fall food drive competition. Each class was a team and for the first time, the Ottoville High School and Middle School staff comprised a fifth team. Food and non-food items were collected all week. Items were scored according to a point system. The teachers’ team amassed the greatest number of points but graciously offered to share the prize, an Arby’s lunch on Dec. 4, with the junior class. They had 100 percent participation. This year’s co-chairmen, senior Janelle Horstman and junior Melissa Schnipke, deemed this year’s event to be one of the most successful in school history. This is the 14th year for this event. Middle school students had a similar but separate contest, with the eighth grade winning that competition.
