Dolores L. Verhoff

Dolores L. Verhoff, 77, of Cuba, died at 10:51 a.m. Wednesday at St. Rita’s Medical Center.
She was born Aug. 20, 1932, in Continental, to William and Anna (Averesch) Wolke.
On June 11, 1952, she married Leonard Verhoff, who survives.
Other survivors include sons Roger (Dorothy) Verhoff and Daniel (Barbara) Verhoff of Continental, Robert (Kathleen) Verhoff of Ottawa, Edward (Marge) Verhoff of Kalida, the Rev. Melvin Verhoff of Delphos and Joseph (Kathleen) Verhoff of Kalida; daughters Elaine (Jack) Ewald of West Union, Patricia (Douglas) Lammers of Miller City and Diane Verhoff of Findlay; sister Irleen Siebeneck of Leipsic; 22 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her infant daughter, Anna Verhoff; brothers Elmer, Hilarius and Marcellinus Wolke; and sisters Margaret Maag, Roselia Wolke and Agnes Wyant.
Mrs.Verhoff was a homemaker, former member of St. Isadore Catholic Church and its Altar Rosary Society, member of St. Michael Catholic Church and its Altar Rosary Society and Catholic Ladies of Columbia. She enjoyed helping with the St. Clement’s Catholic Church Strawberry Festival in Florida and was a member of the Continental American Legion Auxiliary and Red Hat Society. She loved to cook, play cards with friends, paint and collect angels, spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Mass of Christian Burial begins at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Kalida, the Rev. Melvin Verhoff officiating. Burial will follow in St. Isadore Cemetery in Cuba.
Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. today and 2-8 p.m. Friday at Love Funeral Home in Ottawa, where an American Legion Auxiliary service begins at 5 p.m. today and a scripture service at 2:30 p.m. Friday.
Preferred memorials are to St. Michael’s Catholic Church, St. Rita’s Medical Center, the Susan G. Komen Foundation or donor’s choice.
