Albert Dale Heidlebaugh

Albert Dale Heidlebaugh, 92, of rural Spencerville, died at 7:45 p.m. Wednesday at Roselawn Manor Nursing Home following a short illness.
He was born on Jan. 20, 1917, in Marion Township, Allen County, to Marion and Goldie (Redd) Heidlebaugh.
On June 20, 1943, he married Dorothy Baxter, who died on July 11, 2006.
Survivors include son Norman (Sondra) Heidlebaugh of Spencerville; daughters Linda (Edward) Yahl of St. Marys, Susan Heidlebaugh of Cambridge and Karen (Greg) Schwark of Spencerville; sister Alma (Melvin) Kloeppel of Delphos; grandchildren Gregory (Sunny) Heidlebaugh of Maumee, Kevin Heidlebaugh and Melissa Heidlebaugh and Heidi Yahl of Spencerville; Ryan (Brandy) and Jeffrey Yahl of St. Marys and Cory Schwark of Spencerville, step granddaughter Heather Hastings of Wapakoneta; great-grandchildren Caleb and Deborah Yahl and Andrew Robinson of Spencerville and Hayden and Saylore Heidlebaugh of Maumee; and step great-granddaughter Sierra Hastings of Wapakoneta.
He was preceded in death by his brother, William Heidlebaugh; and sisters Breta Buckles and Audrey Suever.
Mr. Heidlebaugh attended one-room schoolhouses and Jefferson High School. He was a lifelong farmer and took advantage of new machinery as it was invented. He worked with area farmers by custom combining and hay bailing in the 1930s and the threshing ring days. He was a lifelong member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Spencerville and the Spencerville Grange #2424 and Farmers Union. He loved camping, became “Wagon Master” for the United Methodist Campers Association, enjoyed playing violin and entertaining family and small parties.
Funeral services begin at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Trinity UMC in Spencerville, the Rev. Jan Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in Hartford Cemetery.
Friends may call from 3-8 p.m. today at Thomas E. Bayliff Funeral Home and for an hour prior to the service Saturday at the church.
Preferred memorials are to Trinity United Methodist Church, Spencerville.
