Putnam libraries gearing up with fall offerings

The Putnam County District Library has announced fall offerings.

Story Time
The district library locations will have story time starting on Aug. 31 through Nov. 19.
Story times introduce young children to books and reading. Each week, one of the six pre-reading skills will be presented and librarians will adapt stories, songs, and crafts to match the ages and attention spans of the children attending.
The schedule is as follows:
Ottoville — 6:30 p.m. Mondays
Kalida — 10 a.m. Tuesdays
Columbus Grove — 10:30 a.m. Tuesdays    Tuesdays at 10:30 a.m.
Ottawa (at the ESC)  — 10 a.m. Tuesdays  —  Baby/Toddlers
— 6:30 p.m.  Tuesdays —  Family story time
— 10 a.m. Wednesdays —  Preschool
Continental — 10 a.m. Thursdays
Leipsic — 10:30 a.m. Thursdays
Fort Jennings — 6:30 p.m. Thursdays
Pandora — 10 a.m. Wednesdays

Family Fun Night
The library in Ottawa (located at the Educational Service Center in the Assembly Hall) will have a bird program presented by Black Swamp Raptor Rehab Center at 6:30 p.m. on Sept. 8.
This event is sponsored by the Friends of the Putnam County District Library.
All are welcome to attend this free program.

Weird School Program
All children in grades K - 4 are invited to attend “Weird School” after school program at your local library. Games and activities are planned from the “My Weird School” book series. For any questions contact Valerie at 419-523-3747. The schedule is as follows:
Pandora — 3:30 p.m. Sept. 9
Ottawa (at the ESC)  — 3:30 p.m. Sept. 14
Fort Jennings — 3:30 p.m. Sept. 21
Kalida — 3:30 p.m. Sept. 28

Jewelry-Making Class
The Putnam County District Library will have a Jewelry-Making Class at 6:30 p.m. Sept. 15 at the Ottawa Presbyterian Church on 150 N. Oak St., Ottawa.
Each participant will be making a bracelet with Pat Kerns as the instructor.
There is a $10 fee which covers the materials to be used in a basic bracelet weave.
