Putnam libraries host summer programs

Come join us at the Putnam County District Library in Ottawa (located at the Educational Service Center) and all locations for Patrick Jolly, “Banjo the Clown” program sponsored by the Friends of the Putnam County Library.  Banjo kicks off the summer program. Children of all ages are welcome to attend this free program.
Banjo the Clown’s schedule is as follows:
10 a.m. Tuesday at Fort Jennings Branch
10 a.m. Tuesday at Ottoville Branch
1 p.m. Tuesday at Kalida Branch
Summer Storytimes
Putnam County District Library locations will have “Ready to Read” storytimes starting Monday through July 23.
These storytimes will include six critical pre-reading skills that can help your child become better readers.  The schedule for all locations is as follows:
11 a.m. Tuesday at Fort Jennings Branch
10 a.m. Wednedsay at the Kalida Branch
6:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Ottoville Branch
The week of June 30, there will be no storytime, come see us at the Putnam County Fair.  All are welcome to attend these free programs.
Ronald McDonald Program
The Putnam County District Library presents Ronald McDonald program for children birth to 4th grade.  He will be performing at the following locations:
1 p.m June 16 at the Fort Jennings Branch
Mad Science Program
The Putnam County District Library presents Mad Science program for children birth to fourth grade. The program will be at the following locations:
1 p.m. June 17 at the Kalida Branch
1 p.m. July 15 at Ottoville Branch
Sidewalk Graffiti Program
The Putnam County District Library presents “Sidewalk Graffiti” for teens grades 5-12.
The program will begin at 3 p.m. Wednesday at the Ottawa Memorial Park in shelter house 11 next to the swimming pool.
Scavenger Hunt
The Putnam County District Library will have a “Scavenger Hunt” for teens grades 5-12.
The program will begin at 3 p.m.  June 17 at the Ottawa Memorial Park in shelter house #11 next to the swimming pool.
All are welcome to attend this free program.
Genealogy Program at Kalida
The Putnam County District Library Kalida location will have “How to Start Your Own Family History” at 2 p.m. June 11.
Join Ruth Wilhelm to find out how to start researching family history. Participants will look at what steps to take, home sources, interviews and how to start a five generation chart.
Genealogy Research at Kalida
The Putnam County District Library Kalida location will have “Basic Research Tools for Discovering Your Family Tree” at 2 p.m. June 18.
Join Ruth Wilhelm to discover how to plan a successful search for a family history. Participants will look at how to gather and document information uncovered as well as how to use pedigree, family and adoptive family ancestor charts.
