Miller to observe 90th birthday
Alfred John Miller of Cloverdale will celebrate his 90th birthday on May 30.
He is the son of the late Joseph and Mayme (Michael) Miller.
He married Marcella Kahle on June 20, 1945. The lived happily together for 62 years until she died in March 2007.
Miller is the dedicated father of nine children, Marlene (Bill) Heringhaus of Toledo; Diana (John) Rondot of Lima, Marie (James) Gerding of Cloverdale; Alan (Mary) Miller of Ottoville, Clare (Thomas) Schmelzer of Bronson, Mich.; Karla (James) Altenburger and Gregory (Jan) Miller of Cloverdale; Julie (Doug) Adams of Nicevile, Fla.; and Barbara (Don) Howard of Ashland, Ky. He is also blessed with 26 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Miller is a World War II veteran who served in the U.S. Army. He retired from Fruehauf Corp. in Delphos. He has continued interest in the family farm, enjoys visiting with family and friends, playing cards and dining out.
An open house will be offered from 1-3 p.m. Sunday at St. Barbara Parish Center in Cloverdale.
