Evans turns 90 Monday

Maxine Evans of Gomer will turn 90 years old on Oct. 27.
She was born on Oct. 27, 1918 in London Mills, Ill., to Leah Blanche and Walter S. Weech.
She married John D. Evans on April 17, 1963, and they had five children, Pam Evans of Gomer, Pat (Carl) Telfer of Marion, Peg (Dave) Walters of Waynesfield, Shirley Bondeson of Olive Hill, Ky., and daughter Sandra (Jon) Green is deceased. She also has 10 grandchildren, Jeffrey Miller is deceased; nine great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Evans was a homemaker and co-owner, with her husband, of Evan’s Drive Inn Restaurant in Gomer. She has also worked at Lima Municipal Court, Ohio Steel Foundary, Colonial Finance and Lazarus Restaurant.
She loves to crochet afghans, doilies, etc., for gifts for families and friends; is a crossword puzzle buff; and loves playing cards.
A family dinner is planned for Sunday at the Plaza Inn in Mounty Victory.
