Robert D. Ditto, 92, of Delphos, died at 10:25 a.m. Saturday at Vancrest Health Care Center.
He was born Aug. 11, 1916, in Allen County, to Charles Wilber and Armeda (Davis) Ditto.
He was married to Norma K. Miller, whom he divorced and then married Velma Strayer on June 20, 1959, and she preceded him in death.
Survivors include sons Donald (Valeta) Ditto and Ronald (Shirley) Ditto of Delphos; daughters Bonnie (Larry) Swaney and Shirley (Marvin Sr.) Lucas of Delphos; sisters Theda Belle DeWitt and Betty Jane Wiechart of Delphos; stepchildren Ronald (Juanita) Strayer of Colorado, Gary (Helen) Strayer and Michael (Rebecca) Strayer of Delphos and Marilyn (Paul) Louth of Allentown; stepdaughter-in-law Margaret Strayer; 45 grandchildren; 74 great grandchildren; and 36 great great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by daughter Barbara Dickson; sister Helen Coulson; brothers Kenneth, Lloyd and Rolland Ditto; granddaughter Sabrina Ditto; great-grandson Daniel Ditto; stepson Gale Strayer; and grandsons George Lucas and Billy S. Van Dyke.
Mr. Ditto was a welder and carpenter who worked at Graham Trailers and Harter Corp. until his retirement. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, big turtle hunting and riding his bike and collecting cans.
Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Harter and Schier Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Walnut Grove Cemetery.
Friends may call from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. today and for an hour prior to the service on Wednesday.
Preferred memorials are to the family.
