Mary Ann “Toots” Bullinger, 86, of Defiance, died at 6:43 p.m. Wednesday at her residence.
She was born Jan. 11, 1922, in Ottoville, to Bernard and Anna (Grote) Horstman.
On Feb. 4, 1950, she married Raymond Bullinger, who died on June 2, 2000.
Survivors include son Jerry (joy) Bullinger of Napoleon; daughters Sharon Bullinger and Diana (Larry) Brown of Defiance; grandchildren Sheila “Sis” Korte, Ben Schilt, Jason Bullinger, Carrie Deatrick, Drew and Chelsi Brown; great grandchildren Logan, Audrey, Gavin, Kolin, Kristin, Allison, Jadyn and Ava; and sister Rosemary “Babe” Wannemacher of Ottoville.
She was preceded in death by her brothers: Cletus “Click,” Cyril “Shrimp,” Leo “Lee,” Richard and Ralph Horstman.
Mrs. Bullinger worked at Riverview Carryout (now Cabbage Patch) in Defiance for many years as a waitress and at Uncle Fudds in Melrose. Her memberships included the former St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Junction. She enjoyed crocheting, the Ohio State Buckeyes, playing bingo, cards and watching softball and basketball.
Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 12:30 p.m. Saturday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Ottoville, the Rev. Dave Tscherne officiating. Burial will follow in Sherman Cemetery in Oakwood.
Friends may call from 2-8 p.m. today at Heitmeyer Funeral Home in Oakwood.
Preferred memorials are to Paulding Area Visiting Nurses and Hospice or Oakwood EMS.
