Fort Jennings principal reports ACT results
FORT JENNINGS — In his report to the school board Tuesday night, Fort Jennings High School Principal Nick Langhals reported 33 students took the ACT college admission exam this year with a composite score of 22.8. This is higher than the state average, which is 21.7 out of more than 88,000 testers.
The test results deem 42 percent of Jennings testers as ready for college, based on college-level English, algebra, biology and science scores.
Elementary Principal Kathy Verhoff informed the board that third-grade students will take the state achievement test for reading on Oct. 7.
School pictures for all grades were taken today.
In other business, the board accepted a $2,000 donation from Bob and Diane Heitmeyer for the Strive Incentive program.
Bus routes were approved and the kitchen was approved for use during a music dinner.
The board approved athletic prices and fees, as well as that of yearbooks and textbooks.
Pre-sale tickets for sporting events will no longer be offered in the Putnam County League. The decision was made outside of Jennings Local Schools and the superintendent does not expect doors to open any earlier than normal due to the change.
