First Northwest Ohio ‘Obama Barn’ painted near Spencerville
Bob Obermeyer, left, of Delphos, and Kris Krendl work on the first “Obama Barn” in northwest Ohio at the Krendl farm on State Route 66 near Spencerville Thursday afternoon. Continuing the “Barns for Obama” effort to show support for Barack Obama in rural parts of Ohio, other volunteers also helped paint the barn. In celebration of the event, the family who owns the barn will hold a picnic with a longtime friend and colleague of Senator Obama’s, Larry Walsh.

I love it! My company specializes in renovating NW Ohio’s historic barns. I could even put the name OBAMA on the roof with our inter-locking barn shingles. That would really be an eyecatcher. Any reason to paint or renovate our areas majestic barns is a good one. It is important to preserve the ever decreasing number of barns in our heartland whenever possible. They are a diminishing part of Americana and our history.
