Marbletown Fest Committee ready
DELPHOS — The Marbletown Festival committee met Tuesday evening and concluded all events are ready to go for the third annual event set Saturday.
The cookbooks have been printed and are available for a price of $14. These, can cozies and T-shirts can be purchased from any committee member or on the day of the festival.
The 5-K walk-run will start the day with registration at 7:30 a.m. and the walk-run at 8 a.m. Age categories are those under age 18, men and women from 19-39 and men and women 40 and over. First and second prizes will be given for each category and one for best time combined.
The Delphos Ladies Club is sponsoring a Marble Cake Bake-off with registration at 8 a.m. and judging at 9 a.m. at Delphos Wesleyan Church. St. Paul United Methodist Church is providing monetary awards for best taste, best decorated and best marble cake.
The memorabilia display will start at 10 a.m. at Marble Hall at Delphos Wesleyan Church.
Children’s activities will take place from 10-11:30 a.m. at Garfield Park.
Food vendors will set up at 11 a.m. on the northeast corner of Clime and Bredeick. Turtle dinners, Marbletown steak sandwiches, corn dogs and snow cones will be available.
The Dancer Family Car Show will also start at 11 a.m. and the frog-jump contest will be held at 11:30 a.m. at Garfield Park.
Line-up for the parade will be at 12:30 a.m. at Main and Clime streets, with the parade to begin at 1 p.m.
A magic show will be held in the main events tent after the parade and area musical talent, including Judy Mack, Gary Backus and Dusty Long, will perform from 2:30-6 p.m. at the tent. The public is reminded to bring their own lawn chairs.
Gospel singing will be from 4-6 p.m. at the Delphos Wesleyan Church.
A 50/50 drawing will be held at 6 p.m. at the main events tent.
