Canal Days Artwalk still taking entries
Canal Days is looking for local artisans to exhibit and sell their works to the public on Sept. 20 and 21.
The ArtWalk will be located between First Financial Bank on Main Street and First Federal Bank on Second Street.
The goal is to connect the two locations with artists booths and to bring more people to the two art shows at the bank. The goal is also twofold: it brings more artisans in the area and it offers a cultural edge to the community event.
Areas around the region are successfully having vendor booths during their town festivals: Artrageous in Van Wert at their Peony festival, Summer Moon in Wapakoneta, Square Fair in Lima and Art in the Park in Ottawa.
For the last 23 years, local artists have displayed their work at the First Financial Bank. Folks have grown to expect seeing it there each year during Canal Days. It’s an amusing thing to see what your ‘neighbor’ can do with their creative talents. Call Jane Looser at the bank for more information to display your art there in September.
This will be the second year First Federal Bank will host the annual ArtFest during Canal Days. This show is a judged and juried show for regional artists at all levels. High school students may also exhibit their work and will be judged in a separate division. For more information about the ArtFest you may contact Judy Grone.
So both shows are unique in what they offer, and bridging the space between will be the Artwalk. Booth exhibitors and vendors are asked to complete an entry form and send a photo of the booth or artwork. Paintings, mixed media, drawings, photography, jewelry, sculpture ( metal and wood), fiber art, pottery, glass and fine artisan crafts may be entered. Space is limited so send your request in early to ensure your space.
The hope is to offer not only a good quality of art but also a diverse, eclectic, and even practical creations for folks to enjoy and buy.
Forms are available at the Delphos Chamber Office or by e-mailing Diane at canaldays@delphoschamber.com or Judy Grone at judygrone@hotmail.com.
