DELPHOS — The Delphos Public Library’s Summer Reading Program has been well received with 303 children participating in the program. The event will conclude at the end of the month with a family night for younger children on July 24 and a swimming party for the older children on July 31.
In other business during the Library Board’s Wednesday meeting, it was announced a $500 donation was received from the Fraternal Order of Eagles Auxiliary and $55.88 was earned from Chief’s Community Cash Back program.
Janet Bonifas gave a brief report on the auditor’s visit. Her job title is now fiscal officer instead of clerk-treasurer. Bonifas said the library is in compliance with Ohio Open Records Laws and she will be attending training again in the fall.
Board members voted to increase gas reimbursement to the IRS business rate, which is 58.5 cents per mile.
Board members also voted to stay with the SirsiDynix computer program for updating the library system after learning it would cost more than $6,000 to transfer data to another company.
A new computer has been installed in the genealogy room for the new micro-film machines. Handout sheets are given to those using the genealogy room to determine which items are being used by library patrons.
