Letter to Editor

DEAR EDITOR:
I would like to congratulate the parents of the unruly teens who seem to think that destroying public and private property is fun. Looks like you have done your job, huh?
While having a cookout this past Wednesday evening at Waterworks Park with some friends from out of town and their children we discovered a trash can on fire in the men’s bathroom at the second shelterhouse. Upon calling the Delphos Police Department we were informed that the bathrooms were normally kept locked due to a high rate of vandalism.
This is extremely sad that a family can’t even take their children to a public park for a fun time without having to deal with things being ruined by disrespectful kids.
What does that say to people from other towns who come to visit?  What has happened to good old fashioned discipline in the world today? I would have never even thought about doing something like that, and it wasn’t the police I was scared of, it was my father.
Again, thanks to the parents of these kids who like to destroy public and private property around town….good job….yeah right!
Sincerely,
Terry Meeker,
Delphos resident
