Committee plans ‘Toast to the City’

The 2008 Canal Days committee will hold a “Toast to the City” on Sept. 18.
This year’s toast theme is “ JAZZ IT UP” and will feature area musicians Trevor Kroeger, a Delphos St. John’s sophomore pianist, and Eric Miglin, a Van Wert native who entertains crowds on saxophone and trumpet.
The Canal Days social tent in front of the Delphos Area Chamber of Commerce will again be the site for “The Toast.” Cocktails and hors d’voeuvres will be available at 5:30 p.m. with various area restaurants participating. The program will begin promptly at 6:30 p.m. and music will be provided before and after the program.
The public is invited to attend this semi-formal event. The cost is $20 per person or table of 8 for $150.
The Canal Days committee is taking reservations for this event until Aug. 31 by calling the chamber at 419-695-1771 or by emailing Diane Sterling at canaldays@delphoschamber.com. Space is limited so please purchase tickets as soon as possible.
The Delphos Rotary will be offering a historical walking tour at 7:30 p.m. after the program for those interested in viewing the inside of several downtown buildings. On the tour, which is included in the price of the TOAST, will be the old Capital Theater and the apartment above the Westrich building, Visual Image Photography building, the Dienstberger House and the H & R Block Building. The building tour is an added attraction for The Toast and cannot be viewed separately. When calling for reservations please specify how many will be attending the walking tour.
