Mr. and Mrs. Duane Simon
Cheryl Marie Burgei and Duane Eugene Simon were united in marriage Oct. 20, 2007, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Fort Jennings by the Rev. Joseph Prybysz.
The bride is the daughter of Mike and Judy Burgei of Fort Jennings. The groom is the son of Mike and Betty Simon of Continental.
Nuptial music was provided by vocalist Amanda Wurst, organist Joyce Gasser and pianist Mike Cole.
Maid of honor was Tracy Burgei of Norwalk, sister of the bride.
Matron of honor was Jen Siebeneck of Kalida, sister of the bride.
Bridesmaids were Julie Schwarm of Lima, sister of the groom; Kendra Ludington of Elida, friend of the couple; Beth Grime of Kalida, friend of the couple; Kelly Burgei of Savannah, cousin of the bride; Alicia Maag of Glandorf, friend of the couple; Andrea Wurst of Bowling Green, cousin of the bride and Amanda Wurst of New York, cousin of the bride.
Flower girls were Jada and Sable Siebeneck of Kalida, nieces of the bride.
Best man was Jason Simon of Fort Worth, Texas, cousin of the groom.
Groomsmen were Ted Warnecke of Miamisburg, friend of the couple; Jason Schwarm of Lima, brother-in-law of the groom; Darrin Burgei of Fort Jennings, brother of the bride; Wayne Burgei of Lima, brother of the bride; Jody Cattell of Kalida, friend of the couple; Rob Edwards of Kalida, friend of the couple; Bill Hovest of Temperance, Mich., friend of the couple; and Derek Simon of Continental, cousin of the groom.
Ushers were David Wurst of Ottoville and Brian Gerdeman of Kalida.
The bride’s grandparents are Orville and Ethel Burgei, Betty Osting and the late Ed Osting. The groom’s grandparents Dan and Joan Simon and the late Vitus and Margaret Erhart.
A reception was held at the Kalida K of C hall.
Following a wedding trip to Orlando, Fla., the couple resides in Ottoville.
The bride is a graduate of Fort Jennings High School and Northwestern College. She is employed as a medical assistant with Physicians, Inc.
The groom is a graduate of Continental High School and Northwestern College. He is employed in management with Meijer.
