Nationally acclaimed authors to appear at Delphos library
DELPHOS — Two nationally acclaimed mystery writers will present a program at 6:30 p.m. Monday at the Delphos Public Library.
Don Bruns and Judy Clemens will be at the library for a free program describing how they became writers and to answer questions from the audience.
Clemens’ mystery books focus on Stella Crown, an amateur sleuth, who is also a Pennsylvania dairy farmer and a Harley-Davidson fan. Titles in that series are “Till the Cows Come Home, “Three Can Keep a Secret,” “To Thine Own Self Be True,” and “The Day Will Come.” Her newest book, “Lost Sons,” is about a detective whose naval officer son is lost in Russia.
Clemens graduated from Goshen College in Indiana and interned at the Actors Theater of Louisville in Kentucky. She has worked as a professional stage manager in Philadelphia, freelanced with numerous companies and served as resident stage manager at Cheltenham Center for the Arts and Lantern Theater. She most recently moved to Ohio after living in Kansas, Florida and Illinois.
Clemens was an Agatha Award nominee for the Best First Novel and won the Anthony Award for Best First Novel in 2005.
Bruns uses tropical paradises as backgrounds for his mysteries featuring Mick Sever, a music columnist who travels solving crimes. His first novel “Jamaica Blue,” was followed by “Barbados Heat,” “South Beach Shakedown,” and St. Bart’s Breakdown” in that series. His newest novel, “Stuff to Die For” features James Lessor and Skip Moore, a bumbling Laurel and Hardy type duo.
Bruns is an advertising executive and a musician who lives in Ohio but travels regularly to Florida and the Caribbean.
