Drs. Robert and Alison Dickson
Dr. Alison Lea Schmit and Dr. Robert Pickett Dickson of Seattle, Wash., were united in marriage June 2, 2007, at Duke University Chapel in Durham, N.C., the Rev. Joseph Vetter officiating.
The bride’s parents are Dr. Nicholas and Linda Schmit of Delphos. The groom’s parents are Mrs. Nancy Dickson of Portland, Maine, and the late Dr. James G. Dickson.
Nuptial music was provided by vocalist Alison Sweeny, organist Dr. David Arcus, pianist Linda Schmit, trumpeteer Bill Massa and flute player Alison Tribble.
Maid of honor was Jennifer Schmit of St. Augustine, Fla., sister of the bride.
Bridesmaid was Elizabeth Oliverio of Cincinnati, friend of the bride.
Junior bridesmaid was Alexandra Russell of Lewis Center, godchild of the bride.
Best man was James L. Dickson, the groom’s brother.
Junior groomsman was Matthew Schulman, nephew of the groom.
Groomsmen were Ryan Schmit of Cincinnati, brother of the bride; and Andrew Barbas, Ethan Carrier and Jonathan Lawless, friends of the groom.
The grandparents are Robert Schmit, the late Patricia Schmit, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Russell, Ann Langley and the late Hubert Langley.
A reception was held at the Treyburn Country Club.
After a wedding trip to Venezuela, the couple reside in Seattle.
The bride is a graduate of St. John’s High School, Miami University in Oxford and Duke University School of Medicine. She is currently doing residency training in pediatrics at Children’s Hospital in Seattle.
The groom is a graduate of St. John’s College in Annapolis, Md., and Duke University School of Medicine. He is doing residency training in internal medicine at the University of Washington Hospital in Seattle.
