Elaine Deffenbaugh

Elaine Deffenbaugh, 59, of Newport News, Va., and formerly of Lima, died suddenly Thursday at her residence.
She was born May 24, 1948, to Elmer and Dorothy Fink of Celina, who survive.
On July 11, 1976, she married James T. Deffenbaugh in Lima. He survives in Newport News.
Other survivors include three daughters, Emily (David) Hewitt of Huntsvile, Ala., Maria (James) Burdan of Spotsylvania, Va., and Lisa (Viork) Nguyen of Fairfax, Va.; a brother, David (Linda) Fink of Celina; a sister, Suzanne (Charlie) Bergman of Winterhaven, Fla.; a sister-in-law, Leann (Dr. Thomas) Bowers of Mishawaka, Ind.,; a brother-in-law, the Rev. Joseph P. Deffenbaugh of Pensacola, Fla.; her stepmother-in-law, Mary V. Deffenbaugh of Delphos; and two granddaughters, Grace and Liliana of Spotsylvania.
She was preceded in death by her father-and mother-in-law, A. James and Pauline “Polly” Deffenbaugh.
Mrs. Deffenbaugh has been a school bus driver for many years and was a homemaker.
Mass of Christian burial will begin at noon Monday at St. Jerome Catholic Church, Newport News. Burial will follow in Peninsula Memorial Park.
