LCC walks, hits way
to win over Ottoville
LIMA — Lima Central Catholic was the recipient of eight free passes by Ottoville starter Sami Modica Wednesday night and added nine hits to down the Lady Green 8-5 in non-league  softball  action  in Lima.
Emily Garlock walked six Ottoville batters but only gave up four hits.
The Lady Green visit Pandora-Gilboa tonight.

KALIDA — The Columbus Grove softball unit put on a clinic Wednesday afternoon in Kalida, getting 1-hit pitching from Heather Bartz and pounding out 13 hits in a 14-1 5-inning Putnam County League victory over the LadyCats.
Kristy Birkemeier dialed long ball for the Bulldogs, while Jodi Birkemeier added a triple and double and Paige Gerdeman two doubles.
Grove took a 9-0 lead in the top of the first frame against Kalida starter Megan Heitmeyer.
Grove welcomes in Lincolnview this afternoon, while Kalida invades Miller City.

Vikings skewer Bulldogs
LEIPSIC — Leipsic scored a run in the bottom of the 10th inning to seize a 6-5 Putnam County League baseball victory over Columbus Grove Wednesday night in Leipsic.
Nate Schroeder (1-0) got the win in relief. Brandon Hovest took the loss for the Bulldogs.
Grove hosts Lincolnview tonight.
